For years, the only way to experience the true origin story of Las Vegas was to walk it — through downtown, past Fremont Street, into the history of Block 16, the city's original red light district. Now that story is available somewhere new: your stage.
Las Vegas Guided Tours has launched Las Vegas: The Origin Story, also known as Block 16: Live — a fully produced, one-hour immersive experience with a full cast in period costume, real audio drawn from memoirs and oral histories, and projected historical imagery. No walking shoes required.
It debuted as a conference keynote, but it isn't limited to conference rooms. This is a boutique, fully customized production — built the same way our walking tours are, around the people in the room. That makes it just as much at home at your next milestone celebration, private party, or special occasion as it is on a convention stage.
Where it started
The keynote debuted in June 2026 at the Casino Collectibles Association's 34th Annual Expo at South Point Casino, performed for an audience of 50 to 60 attendees. A six-actor cast brought the birth of Sin City to life on stage, and the show included a custom touch built specifically for that room: a collectible casino chip, a nod to the audience's own passion, handed out alongside a meet-and-greet before and after the performance.

What the experience includes
Every performance runs about 60 minutes — built to fit inside a keynote slot, breakout session, or general session without disrupting the rest of the agenda. It includes a full cast in period costume, audio drawn directly from historical memoirs and oral histories, and a story most audiences have genuinely never heard: how a red light district became a global icon, built in large part by early visionaries and women entrepreneurs whose names rarely make it into the postcard version of Las Vegas history.
It's designed to feel like an experience, not a lecture — closer to stepping into a moment of history than sitting through a slide deck.
